You are special because you are unique.
You are special. I was invited to a seminal to motivate an audience of 100 people and I started by holding up a N1,000 note. I asked. “Who would like to have this N1,000 note?”
Trust me, hands started going up. I said, “I am going to give this N1,000 note to one of you – but first, let me do this.”
I proceeded to crumple the N1,000 note up. Then I asked. “Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air.
And I said, “what if I do this?” I dropped it on the ground and I started to grind it into the floor with my shoe. And I picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. I asked again “who still wants it?”
Still the hands went into the air.
I said to them “Gentle ladies and gentle men, I want you all to learn a very valuable lesson here. No matter what I did to the money, you all still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth N1,000 note.”
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless; but no matter what happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who love you. The worth of our lives comes, not in what we do or who we know, but by …WHO WE ARE.
Don’t let the opinions of others make you a prisoner. You are special! There is only one you. Value yourself and the others just for what you and they are and do not judge the other. Each one is special.
