Every day is a gift from God but there are more heart attacks on Monday’s than any other day of the week because people have decided Monday is a stressful day. My research shows that people are happiest on Fridays and just like every other day, a Friday is not more than twenty-four hours, but you see, a Friday is the end of a working week and a day workers get paid (wages) in most advanced economies.
On Friday, people begin a work free weekend, so the moon on a Friday is always a happy one. You’ve heard the saying “TGIF. Thank God it’s Friday.” School children are not left out as they too look forward to a school free Saturday and Sunday in which they can enjoy quality time with their parents.
Now by asking you to make everyday a Friday, I was simply asking you to approach each day of the week with the same joy. You don’t have to be sad, depressed and look like you are mourning because it’s Monday; often times this affects your morale and eventually your performance in school and your relationship with others.
When you wake up on Monday morning, don’t accept those negative thoughts that comes into your mind, saying, It will be a hard day and a long week. Traffic will be bad. I have so much work to do. I just need to make it through the Monday morning blues. Don’t buy into those thoughts.
Opportunities abound in each day so be calm, steady and keep cool. Don’t give away your joy to a particular day. Give yourself permission to be happy every day. Not just on the weekends. Not just when you have a special event. Not just when you’re on vacation. Keep your strength under control and made up your mind to enjoy everyday. For you and I it also should be;
“TGIM. Thank God it’s Monday.”
“TGIT. Thank God it’s Tuesday.”
“TGIW. Thank God it’s Wednesday.”
“TGIS. Thank God it’s Sunday.”
And don’t take for granted the family, friends, and opportunities He has blessed you with.
Joy does not simply happen to us. we have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day. -Henri J.M
God created each day with its own blessing, so rejoice and be glad as you pursue the package each day has brought for you.
Have a wonderful day.
