There was a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay for his school. He was very hungry and decided he would ask for a meal at next house. However, at the next house he lost his nerve when a lovely young girl opened the door. So instead of a meal, he asked for a glass of water.
The girl thought, he looked hungry. So, she brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, & asked thereafter : “how much do I owe you for this?”
The beautiful girl replied “You don’t owe me anything, my Mother has taught me never to accept pay for kindness.
He said, “from the bottom of my heart I thank you so much.”
Some Years passed by, the young girl became a woman but was diagnosed with the rarest kind of nervous condition, which was a complicated condition to treat. Many experienced doctors tried their possible best to save her life but they couldn’t cure her. She was later referred to a special hospital where specialists studied her rare illness.
Dr. James, a renowned specialist was called in for the consultation, when he heard the name of the town where she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. He rose & went down to the hall of the hospital to her room. He recognised her immediately.
From that day, he gave special attention to her case. Dr. James battled hard with the disease for weeks and months. After a long struggle, With all his efforts and knowledge, at last, he won over the disease and the woman was completely cured. Everyone praised the doctor, while the woman was quite afraid about the hospital bill as she could not afford to pay.
Dr. James requested the hospital to send her bill to him as he would like to add his charges. After receiving the hospital bill, he looked at it and wrote something on the bill and the bill was sent to her. With lots of fear, she opened the bill and had no idea how much she was charged.
Her eyes filled with tears and happiness once she opened the bill. She found the bill cancelled and that was not the reason for her happiness.
She saw the note written by Dr. James – “Bill Paid years ago with a glass of milk!“
It’s good to be good. Always be nice: It will come back to you.
Kindness is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow upon another. if someone is in need, lend them a helping hand. Do not wait for a thank you. True kindness lies within the act of giving without the expectation of something in return.
If you have the power to make someone happy, do it. the word needs more of that.
Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal, and not wound.
Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping them UP.
Be Kind and Compassionate To One Another! No act of kindness no matter how small is ever wasted.
Every form of kindness you show is never in vain, it reproduces itself. Well, not necessarily before your eyes, but it always does. I’ve been kind to you by sharing this story. You too, be kind to share it with others using the sharing buttons below.
